This is the second tour poster that I created. The improvements in this tour poster compared to the first one that I made are vast. I have done one of the the two things that I set out to do after I completed my first tour poster, which was to include stripes at the bottom of the poster where the dates of the tour are going to be.
The other one which was "use colourful images on a black background to make it more eye catching" and I decided not to do that with this tour poster because the black and white theme works well with the effects I have done to the image. I used the artistic filter 'cut out' to give the image the effect that it has on my tour poster. I think that this makes the poster look better manipulated on the black background and works well with the strips underneath it and the white text.
I think that when it comes to making my final tour poster it will look similar because I like the way that the manipulated image works well with the black and white theme of the poster, which is something that I now know I can do to make a professional looking tour poster.
Your right I do think it looks professional and meets many of the codes and conventions Id expect to see. Id make more of this in your explination and add a 'real' one in order to make a meaningful comparison. Keep your explanation to the point, the first paragraph waffles a bit. I like the explination of the skills you have used.- DG
