ORIGINAL tour poster from Tenacious D |
I do not know much about Photoshop and that is why I the first poster I have made is not of a good quality. I plan on improving my skills in Photoshop so when it comes to creating my final tour poster it will look significantly better than this one and include a variety of tools and effects to help make it look more professional.
In order to create a professional looking tour poster I will need to see what one looks like. I have found a small selection of tour posters from the internet and will analyse them to see what makes the other posters look more professional than mine.
This first tour poster is by Drake. The image is black and white and that matches with the black background, also the text is big and bold in the middle of the poster. The red stripes to separate the dates of the places he will be touring to is an idea that I think will look professional on my final tour poster. You can obviously see the difference between this tour poster and my own as this one has qualities that mine does not.
The second tour poster is by The Script. This poster is eye catching as the variety of colours coming from the image in the centre of the poster contrast to the black background to make it look imposing. This poster goes with an unique approach compared to the others as the image on the poster is the same from the album; whilst other posters go with an image of the artist. This shows me that if I use colourful text/imagery on a black background it makes the poster more eye catching and makes people take notice.
The final poster is from Eminem. This poster is not as good as the previous two because I don't think the red and the blue match well together on the white background making the text very hard to read. I don't think this is a good tour poster as the image is very imposing on the poster and his attire doesn't match the text and I think that contributes to the fact that it is hard to read.
After looking at the three posters I have identified two things that I will be using on my tour poster to help it look professional:
- Stripes over the dates of the tour to make it look more creative
- Use colourful images/text on a black background to make it look more eye catching
Better quality images needed immediately......these are not good at all. Update please right way. Thank you
ReplyDeleteGood analysis on compare and contrast of tour posters. Say ORIGINAL Tour Poster fro 'artist' in strapline and my 1st tour poster using photoshop etc... shows clarity of thinking. Reads well apart from a few areas that I will talk to you about tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI will consider this feedback and apply changes, hopefully this will be evident in future blog posts.
